1. To continue, fill in the cells with the numeric data pertinent to the grocery store example.

Automaticaly, you can see that the figure is located to the right of the cell. This means that the data in B2 is a number

3. If you had typed a figure + a word, Excel convert it as a string and so, you can not use this data in a calculation

4. It is now easy to indicate whether the content of a cell is a label, a figure or a logical data since labels are located near the left margin of a cell, figures are located near the right and a logical value (True or False) are located in the center.

5. Important notice: if you wish a figure to become a label, simply insert a quote (‘) in the beginning of the input; it will only be visible in the formula bar.
This is very important to write a phone number with a 0 at the beginning
